Woonsocket Mayor Baldelli-Hunt re-elected, after being ousted from workplace


WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE)– Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt was re-elected Tuesday after being ousted from workplace last month.

After her elimination, Woonsocket locals contacted us to choose City Councilwoman Denise Sierra as mayor through write-in votes

In October, the city board voted 3-2 to eliminate the mayor after Sierra on come up with a problem, stating Baldelli-Hunt was willfully overlooking tasks, consisting of not carrying out an agreement with the cops union, providing stipends to city workers without council approval, and a number of other circumstances of not carrying out other council-passed regulations.

According to the Secretary of State’s site, Baldelli-Hunt made over 5,000 votes, while the write-in gotten over 1,500 votes.
