NEW SHOREHAM, R.I. (WLNE)– Citizens and property owners on Block Island called out Ballard’s for the current brawl, and what they state is continued misbehavior.

This follows a battle broke out at Ballard’s Monday, followed by a violent occurrence on the ferryboat Monday night.

8 individuals were detained as an outcome of Monday’s violence.

” I never ever go near Ballard’s since of the environment,” stated Meaghan Barrett, a property owner on the island for 35 years. “It’s simply debauchery. It went from a great dining establishment to a location that is not safe.”

She continued, “None people must be ruled over to the Filippi’s desire, their craven desire, to generate income. We have a right to come here on this island and feel safe.”

Ballard’s owner Steve Filippi reacted to criticism on WPRO Wednesday, “I didn’t understand about that battle till I saw that video. I keep in mind heading out there, looking, and whatever was over.”

A handful of locals, together with Barrett, composed into the council to reveal their growing issues on the island and about Ballard’s.

Barrett concluded, “They can’t let this one go. It will impact this island. Individuals will state, ‘I am not visiting the island since its simply a location where individuals get intoxicated and have battles.’ Who desires that?.”

The conference Thursday is set up for 5 PM.
