Was it something we stated? Or was it the pandemic times? Whatever it is or was, we believe the concept of a drive by art program is brand-new, ingenious, understanding towards those with impairments, and rather adaptive!
Artists’ Open Studios + Drive-By Art is a one-day, island-wide artists-led occasion where getting involved artists welcome visitors into their studios– or to see their art outside while going by. This is an imaginative program handled by the Jamestown Art Center.
The occasion will be hung on Saturday, August sixth from 10 am– 4 pm– Rain date: Sunday, August 7.
A digital, interactive trip map is prepared so visitors can utilize it on their smart device for turn-by-turn navigation to various artist’s areas. A print map will be offered for choice up at the JAC throughout Gallery Hours starting August 3.
Getting involved artists are members of the JAC and/or the Conanicut Island Art Association (CIAA), and consist of:
Jillian Barber, Lisa Barsumian, Nina’s Beads, Shirley Mae Bell, Rose M. Chase, Clancy Styles, Kenny Defusco, Karen Dolmanisth, Peter Diepenbrock, Peter Elsworth, Mary Gazda, Andy Hunter, Alexandra Kent Arts, Marilyn McShane Levine, Sue Mailloux, Amanda Matthews, Rick Meli, Pete Flood, Kate Petrie, Elaine Porter, Peter Strickland, Didi Suydam, Christopher T.
